What Makes it Worth it

Alright, so I know it’s been a little bit. I don’t know what updates I should even give. We are helping the people here come closer to Jesus Christ. It’s great, and the Holy Ghost does all the work. We just walk around and read scriptures and stuff, it’s wild. I’m convinced that the sole role of a missionary is to bring the Spirit to people, and everything we do is focused on achieving that goal.

We also recently found a spider that was the size of my hand. At least, his uber long legs were. No, I’m not going to be putting my hand close to it though, so there is no picture of this thing. You’re just going to have to exercise faith and believe on my words.

Most likely, I will only be sending one more email after this one. And that will be on the final P-day of my mission. So I’ll make sure it’s good.

As for what’s been happening here lately, I’ve just been trying to work as hard as I can, and it’s pretty exhausting. But I’m heavenbent on finishing my mission strong, so nothing is going to stop me. We’ve been able to find a lot more people to talk to, and the work here in Shawnee is picking up. I really don’t know what else to say. I’ve pretty much summed it all up.

I guess to share a fun story, we have been talking to this person named Maleya, and we told her to read the Book of Mormon and pray to ask God if it’s true (like we ALWAYS do). Well, 20 minutes after our lesson, we get a text from her saying: “It’s true. All of it.” It took a second for our heads to wrap around what just happened, but it was legendary. There is definitely a lot of rejection on a mission, but when you get those honest seekers of truth, that sincerely ask and read, it’s worth it. It makes it all worth it.

So I’ll keep working out here, and then send out that final email on the 19th. Be on the lookout. I’ll be raffling off one of my most valuable possessions.

Hope you guys all have a good one!
